Petite Provence Farm

Lavender, Honey & Related Sundries

Home: Welcome

Our Story

The Petite Provence Lavender Farm began as a simple gardening project to master the art of keeping lavender plants alive in what is a very hostile and sometimes unpredictable Indiana eco-system.    With many planting failures, some help from the wild turkeys, and a LOT of determination, our plants began to thrive.

At our peak, we tended to nearly 10 full hives, and over 400 lavender plants of culinary and non-culinary varieties.  In the early years, this included a 200+ plant lavender labyrinth.  The 80ft. diameter, lavender pathway was designed for meditation, and to help support the early bee colony.

Due to family health issues, we decided in 2026 that we are unable to continue our operation.  While this makes us very sad, we rest on what was our simple goal: to share with you our learning, lavender, and honey and do our part to protect and increase the honeybee population here in northwestern Indiana.

We feel we met this goal - and through your many kind messages over the years, we definitely exceeded expectations in gathering a community of caring individuals who year after year helped support the bees.

and this Petite Provence Farm endeavor.

We indeed fostered healthier bees and a happier planet thanks to each of you!
